FRAMING the REPERTOIRE
Lecture: Salome
With FRAMING the REPERTOIRE, a new programme line dedicated to the repertoire of the Hamburg State Opera will be introduced at the beginning of this season. Productions created in the past are understood as an art form in their own right, which must be approached from a contemporary perspective. The historicity of repertoire productions and the aesthetic and historical dimensions inherent in them are examined with a conscious eye.
At the same time, contemporary spaces are created in order to reflect more closely with others on the proximity and distance to what has been seen. The events, consisting of talks, lectures or artistic impulses, deal with directors, lines of interpretation or discourses that were central to specific approaches to interpretation. They thus contextualise the repertoire.
