Advance ticket sales for the 2025/26 season

General advance ticket sales for the 2025/2026 season begin on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Subscribers can purchase additional tickets from Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. - with the AboSpezial login also online in the webshop. Separate regulations apply to "Peter and the Wolf of St. Pauli", the ballet workshops, the "Nijinsky Gala" and concerts within the "Hamburg International Music Festival 2026", which will be announced at a later date.

Evening Box Office

The evening box office at the State Opera and at the Elbphilharmonie open 90 minutes before a performance. At the box office, only tickets for the current performance can be purchased

Ticket Sales Points

Tickets can usually also be purchased at all known ticket sales points, via Hamburg Tourismus GmbH and via eventim.de and the CTS Eventim sales points.

Paying for Your Tickets

Register once, and you can select your tickets easily and comfortably, book and pay for them, and print them out at home, or send them directly to your mobile phone. We charge a postage and handling fee of €3.00 for sending tickets by mail. You may purchase tickets via our online shop using your credit card (Visa, MasterCard) or via SEPA direct debit.

Tickets can be purchased at our Ticket Services office in cash and by using your debit or credit card; sales via the phone or in writing can be paid for via credit card (Visa/MasterCard) or by payment via SEPA direct debit. Tickets ordered by mail or phone must be picked up and paid for within seven days after the reservation has been received; the exact date will be noted in your written reservation confirmation or during your phone order. If you wish, we are happy to mail you your tickets, charging a €3.00 postage and handling fee together with the ticket price. Tickets will be mailed after payment has been completed. Written requests will be filled in the order they are received. In principle, tickets once purchased cannot be returned or exchanged. Reduced Ticket Prices

Pocket money-friendly: tickets for children and young people

Children, teenagers and young adults under the age of 30 are important to us. That's why tickets for them are available at pocket money prices.

For opera and ballet performances, we offer tickets at the box office and - new from the 2025/26 season - from 14 days before the performance in the online store to schoolchildren, students, trainees and those doing federal voluntary service (up to the age of 30 in each case) at the low fixed price of € 15, subject to availability. Reduced tickets for concerts of the Philharmonic State Orchestra are available in advance to a limited extent at a standard price of € 12. The discount applies to seats in price groups 2 and 3 in the Elbphilharmonie.

And all young adults up to the age of 30 receive a 20% discount on the ticket price for seating groups 1 to 7 in advance for performances in the State Opera's main auditorium.

By the way: our subscriptions are also particularly good value for anyone under 30: you receive a further 50% discount on the reduced subscription price for all series, saving you up to 60% compared to the individual price.

Of course: discounts for those who are less well-off

We don't want anyone to have to miss out on going to the opera, ballet or concert for financial reasons. That's why we offer various discounts.

Severely disabled persons with a GdB of 80 or more and their companions with appropriate proof ("B" license plate) receive a 50% discount on the box office price. Unemployed persons and recipients of unemployment benefit II and social benefits receive a 50% discount on the box office price for seating groups 1 to 7. In addition, the State Opera participates in the Hamburger Kulturschlüssel and KulturLeben Hamburg programs with monthly changing offers for which it provides free tickets. Fair is fair: For discounted tickets, appropriate proof must be presented at the entrance.

Cloakroom

Use of the State Opera cloakrooms is free for audience members. Large items (coats, umbrellas, large bags and comparable unwieldy items) may not be taken into the auditorium.

We are happy to mail you the monthly programme flyers for the State Opera free of charge. Orders will be accepted by phone at +49 (40) 35 68 68.
